Air Pollution

On your blog, share three new things that you learned about air pollution from this video.

  • Some air pollutions come from natural sources like from a volcanic eruption, log fires and allergies.
  • Greenhouse gases increase Smog, Mold and Pollen
  • Smog is a type of air pollution that reduces visibility and has serious health effects.

  1. Hi Auckland,

It's Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. You've done a good job of listing 3 things you've learned about air pollution. And, your photo is excellent.

Isn't it sad that some of our industries continue to pour toxic waste into the air, like this?? I hope that's not happening in the city of Auckland!!

I hope you've never experienced smog. I used to live in a big city, Toronto, and there are days when it can be very gray and smog-covered. There are so many cars and trucks burning fossil fuels and so many industries pouring smoke into the air that it becomes very thick and 'heavy'. Fortunately there are new ways to prevent that from happening so I think the air in our world will improve in the future as more countries work together to require companies to clean up their act, as they say.

I hope that you've enjoyed being a part of the Summer Learning Journey and that you're happy in your classroom this term.

I'll continue to enjoy reading your blog!

    Cheers,

    Leslie
