Predator Free 2050

On your blog, tell us which one of the videos you liked the best and why..
I really liked the first video because the guy in the video is not only trying to catch animals but mainly to get as many on camera as possible. He is also trying to develop the first stages of artificial intelligence. In my class at Tamaki Primary School we were learning about this and we all sent our opinion to the government.

  1. Hi Auckland,

It's Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team.

I liked the Cacophony project video too! Wasn't it amazing that the gentleman figured out a way to use sound to attract the predators into the traps??? What a brilliant idea, much better than using food!

It's too too bad that predatorial animals were ever brought into New Zealand in the first place. A hundred or more years ago people just didn't understand the problems they would cause. Now they have to be removed because they're having such a negative impact on ground-nesting birds and other native animals. Ugh!! So much work!!

Isn't it cool, though, that Artificial Intelligence can help to solve this problem? I'm really interested to know that you've already been learning about AI in your class at school!

I hope you're feeling like you learned some interesting things through being a part of this Summer Learning Journey and I hope you're really happy in your class this new term!

    Cheers,

    Leslie
