School Values👍😀

Our school values are Whanaungatanga , Manaakitanga , Tukumarie , Rangimarie and Ako.
Whanaungatanga means building positive relationships. Manaakitanga means caring for others. Tukumarie means tolerance and  Rangimarie means peace.

Ako means learning and teaching from each other.

Manaakitanga means caring for others. So it means help out a friend if he/she is sad or down. An example of caring for others is helping out a friend or caring for a sick friend. You can show manaakitanga in differents ways by waking up your brother for school. You can even give a friend some of your lunch if they don’t have any.

Whanaungatanga means building positive relationships.
This can be different relationships. For example it could be your friendships. It means being active in your social life instead of gaming. The other relationship can be your family relationships. It means your relationships with your brothers , sisters and cousins.

Rangimarie means peace. It means being friendly to others. There is a saying called “What goes around comes back around”. So if you respect others they will do the same. You can also show rangimarie by being a peacemaker. So it means stopping fights.

Tukumarie means tolerance. So it means being patient and your opinions. Being patient means a person who doesn't mind to wait.
Your opinions are what you think. It’s like what you believe in. So this also involves your taha wairua.Taha wairua me your spiritual well being. It means your morals , beliefs and values.

Ako means learning and teaching from each other.
Showing ako is very easy to show. For example you can show ako by teaching a friend a new strategy in maths. It can even be teaching someone how to play an instrument.
