Tomorrow is the first day of school of Term 2.

Term 1 was great but I am very looking forward to Term 2. In Term 2 I am going to improve my listening skills and try to stay focused. In Term 2 there is going to be lots of tests so I need to try and study. I am very excited to start Term 2.

🏖️My School Holidays🏖️

In the first week of school Holidays I mostly spent my days at home. For me school holidays was all about relaxing and taking time off school. My school holidays were mostly boring  because I couldn't go anywhere. Reason for that is because I was sick. When I was taken to the doctor I had hay fever and an ear infection.
On friday it was Easter. It was a very special day for my family because he sacrificed himself for our sins. My family is very religious. We are members of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. In other words we are mormon. If you want to learn more about my church click on this link.
On the second week I was allowed to go anywhere because I wasn't sick anymore. On Monday my family and I went to my aunty and uncles. We haven't seen them in years. But when we finally got to meet them they were loving and caring. After that I challenged my brother to a game of 8 pool in my uncle's garage. I beat my brother 4 times the exact same way. It was like it was meant to be.
In week 2 of my school holidays I mostly spent with my family.

🏫My End of Term 1 Reflection🏫

Today I am going to be talking about my end of term reflection.

Softball Training T1w4

I am going to talk about is softball.

Softball is one of the many sports I like to play. I like it because it helps me to relieve my stress. For example I put all my anger into the softball so when the pitcher pitches I hit the ball with all my anger.

Before we started playing we had take a lap around the bike track.

After that we did exercises. Some of them were to see our skills. For example we did throwing exercises to see how far we can throw the ball. Next we played the real game. Every time I was batting this girl in my class kept and getting me out. But on my last bat I hit it further so no one can catch it.

Technology - Wood T1w3-11

I love technology. In Technology I am in a building class called hard materials. It is really cool. I am building a wagon. I have been working on my

for almost 9 hrs. When I finish it I am going to put lot of thing in it. Like lollies , pens and pencils.This is the story I wrote about my wagon i'm making.

I chose to make a wagon for myself because I get bored very easily during class. This wagon also helps me to store my school stationery like pencils and rubbers. This will be very useful and helpful for me.

When I finish my wagon I hope it looks like this.

TEAM building activities PT1 T1W4

On week 4 our topic was based on team building. During that week we did lots of team building activities. Some of the activities we did were at school  , the pools and even at night. But my favourite team building activities was at the sleepover. But I am going to talk about thursday. Thursday was the day where most of the team building and friendships were made. It was where I could relate to people that I never knew who  we had anything we had in common. On thursday we went to the pools. At the pools we did many team building activities. The first one we had to hold hands with our teammates and get to the other side without letting go. When my team was swimming we weren’t working as a team. One side ( the boys side) were going faster than the other. Then on the next one we had a race with another team.  In that race we worked as team and came first. But we never had points because we never lined up strait. After that we had free time.During free time my friends and I went and grabbed the football. When we had the football we played passes like the quarterback(NFL position). But then the girls wanted to play. At first I said no but then I just remembered why were here an it is to build positive relationships. So I changed my mind and said yes.

Team building activities PT2 T1W4

After free time we had another race but it was freestyle. In freestyle  we had to swim to the other side and tag our team mates. Then our team mates swim to the other side and touch the wall. Next we had to do the same thing but you swim by yourself. During that challenge one of my teammates were in the toilet so he never participated. Finally it was our last challenge. In the challenge we had yoga inside the pool. For our last challenge we had to use our listening skills and put to the test. If you do not listen you have to get out of the pool and get changed. After that we had another free time and it was lunch time. At lunch time the boys sat at the by themselves and the girls did the same. In our table we had our own shared lunch. At the table the boys all contributed something at the table. At the table we had chocolates , fruit , chips and even more chocolate.

Team building activities PT3 T1W4

Later that at night we had a sleepover. At the sleepover we could sleep  in the hall or in our tents. Most of the girls decided to sleep in the hall and most of the boys decided to sleep in their tents. Before we went sleep we had dinner , a dance and movie night. First we had dinner. For dinner our families can bring kai ( food). At dinner we had pizzas , chicken nibbles and some cultural dishes. What surprised me was the principal brought 28 pizzas and our teacher aid lots of chips and chicken. Before we ate we sang happy birthday to my friends dad. After we ate we all had to dance to a song. The song my friends and I chose was Lazy Siren jam. Then we had a dance off. In the dance off my friends and I came 2nd. And first place was the boy who danced like Michael Jackson. Next was movie night . The movie we watched for our movie night was megamind. In the movie megamind is a villain  and the super hero was metro man. Metro man never gotten defeated in his but one megamind exploded metroman. When it was bedtime my friends and I tried to stay up all night. My two friends during the night failed to stay up. But me I kept slapping my face to stay up. When the I was thinking about going to my other friends tent. But it rained when I just walked outside. Eventually tried to go sleep because I was tired. But then heavy rain came down and wet all of our stuff. During when everyone was sleeping I went inside and accidently woke some people up. In the morning we all did Zumba. At Zumba we watch the projector and copied the zumba instructor.

Animal Town🐅🐉

Today in class we were given a picture and we needed to write.
 Here is what I have written about.

Animal Town

Animal town is a weird town full of animals.

It is a place where wild animals be free.

Animal Town is full of any animal you can think of.

Like lions , snakes , monkeys and tigers.

In animal town I felt lots of different emotions.

One of those emotions was scared. I was scared because I thought I was going to get killed
from the animals. The animal I am mostly scared of is the gorilla. The gorilla is strong , fas
t and brave. The other emotion  was petrified. I was petrified because I am in a town full of wild
animals. I was also nervous because I didn’t know what to do. I was kind of curious. I was
curious because what are wild animals doing in a town. I wondered if the animals could
communicate to each other.

• I think I was good at adding descriptive vocabulary.
• What I can improve on is write more.

Today I am going to be talking about Easter holiday. I am going to say explain why eggs represent Easter.

Today in class we were given a picture and we needed to write.

My World

When I use my scissors to cut the world I am going to create a masterpiece.

In my world everybody is kind and caring.

The clouds are made out candy.

But I am going to name the city by my name. I am already name after a city
called Auckland but I want to change it to my samoan name Fai.

In this world there are lot of new technology like space crafts and a cyber desk.
A cyber desk is a desk that is like your phone. So you can watch netflix on it
or even play games. Also in this world I want to be king or ruler of my own
country. It would be cool and I would get anything I want.

In this world it’s like a dream. It’s all about using your imagination.

So if imagine that you have pizza in your hand it will appear in your hand.

Also in this world everyone is rich so they don’t need to work they can just
buy anything they want. I am going to keep school how it is.

I want to keep school as it is because I want people to have a good education

so they can develop in all subjects.

IAL: to make a wagon.

Today in technology I was continuing to build my wagon.

My wagon is not that bad. It still needs some work to make it look like a wagon. My wagon is in a compressor because I am glueing it together.

My wagon still needs wheels and a string to make it move.

As you can see my wagon still needs adjustments.

IAL: what to share online and what not to share online.

Today in class Miss Collins taught us about personal profiles.
In those profile you can anything you want like you culture and your school. You can't share private information. 
Private information is like your full name , address and your passwords. If you share this kind of information online someone can take your Identity.
Here is my blogger profile.

In our cybersmart lesson Miss Collins gave us 6 famous people. The 6 famous people were Lydia Ko , Joseph Parker , Valerie Adams , Lisa Carrington , Rieko Ioane and Scott Dixon.

You have to choose one of those famous people and read their profile. After you have read their profile you need to write what you now know about them.

Today our cybersmart teacher came back.
Her name is Miss Collins. Miss Collins is a teacher from Manaiakalani.
When she came in we were learning shortcuts on how to bookmark online.
First way is to click on the STAR on the right corner.
The next way is to hold Ctrl + D.

🏫Lock Down Drill🏫

IALA: what you do when your in a lock down.

Today in assembly our principal Mrs Kelly was telling us about a lock down drill.
A lock down is when your whole school is in a lock down. What does it look like?  In a lock down you have to lie down on the ground flat and be quiet. Reason for a lock down is because if there is a dangerous threat outside. 
When you lie down don't seek attention or you put yourself and the whole school at risk. 

In today's lock down drill the bell went on and off like 5 times. It was at 10:00 am. During the lock down I tried to not laugh and move because there was someone trying to make me laugh. When I was lying down my chest was hurting.  When it was finally over the deputy principal came to my class and said we could get up.
When I got up my leg was hurting.

🌏Earth Hour🌏

IALA: Earth Hour.

What is Earth Hour?
Earth hour is a call for global action on climate change.
The first Earth Hour event was held on 31 March 2007. WWF-Australia.More than 2.2 million individuals and 2,000 businesses turned their lights out for one hour in the first Earth Hour event. 

Cities around the world have marked Earth Hour by turning off lights at 8:30 pm local time. 180 countries all over the world is participating. As Earth Hour rolled around the globe, thousands of landmarks switched off their lights in solidarity for our planet.

IALA: what a growth mindset is.

What is a growth mindset?
A growth mindset is something is like a quote.
A growth mindset set is like telling yourself that you can do it. You can achieve anything. Showing resilience helps your growth mindset grow.

What is a fixed mindset?
A fixed mindset is the opposite of having a growth mindset. So it means like you want to give up.
The task is hard so you just don't try.

In my group was Stanley , Alyssa and Senitila.
In our group we needed to create a presentation.
In our presentation there a questions from our teacher.

Rainbow Method🌈

IALA: how to use Rainbow Method to solve multiplication problems.

Last week on Friday we had a substitute. Our substitute teacher was called Mr Tafea.

Mr Tafea was a really cool teacher. He taught us 4 different strategies to work multiplication problems. The names of the strategies are Rainbow , Lattice , Lines and Algorithm method. All of these strategies are efficient but I am going to only teach you how to use the Rainbow Method. If you want to see my explanation how to use the lines method click HERE  

Now here is how to use the Rainbow Method.

21 x 31

First you multiply the numbers in the front.

Which will be 2 x 3 = 6 . After that you leave a blank space.

2 x 3 = 6_

Next you need to multiply the numbers at the back.

Which will make 1 x 1 = 1.

Then you add the 1 to your answer. Now it will look like 6_1.

To get the answer in the middle you need to multiply the numbers that you haven't multiplied in the beginning. So (2 x 1) + (3x1) = 5.

Next you add the 5 to your answer.

21 x 31 = 651

That is your answer.

Hauora🏠

IALA: Hauora

Today I wanted to look back at my Hauora.
First of what is a Hauora?

Hauora is about your well being. You have four well beings. First well being is your Taha tinana. Taha tinana means your physical well being.

Second well being is taha whanau. Taha whanau means your social and family well being. Third well being is your taha hinengaro. Taha hinengaro means your mental and emotional well being. Last but not least is your  taha wairua. Taha wairua means your spiritual well being.
